Biography

For twenty-five years, Stacie Monahan served as a senior executive inside large organizations, watching leadership succeed and fail from both sides of the table.

She spent seven years as an insurance adjuster for major carriers, managing bodily injury claims through pre-litigation and litigation. She then moved to the plaintiff side and spent eighteen years at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, one of the Southeast’s largest personal injury firms, rising to Vice President of Operations and becoming the first woman to achieve a vice presidency in that firm’s history.

As a partner at Maestro and an in-demand consultant, she specializes in system management and design. She has built asynchronous teams across the United States and internationally, and has consulted across every major operational function, diagnosing where work stalls and where value leaks out of an organization.

Today she serves as a fractional chief operating officer for multiple organizations across the country, and coaches operators at a variety of leadership levels in companies of every size. It is the same work the book describes, done in the room rather than on the page.

She is renowned for a high level of emotional intelligence and for a track record of developing, mentoring, and empowering emerging leaders. Her leadership journey began by witnessing the profound impacts, both positive and negative, that leaders have on others. She was inspired by those who led with excellence and driven to do better by those who fell short.

Many imagine leadership to be a crown, but it’s more like a heavy cloak of responsibility.
